Online Tutoring provided free to Chancellor University students


At Chancellor University, online tutoring is available to all registered students. Any registered student can access online tutoring by clicking on the link provided on their Angel course homepage. Click on "communicate" to ask a question to any of our tutors in the forums provided. Chancellor University tutors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can help students succeed in the areas of English/writing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, and other general math courses. Our tutors provide Chancellor University students with an opportunity to succeed.

Log into Angel, and click on CU Academic Support Center. Then click on Course Content, and you will see a listing of folders where you can post questions and request help from a tutor for your assignments.

Writing Resources

Good writing is a skill you can learn. Provided here are some tools to help you improve your writing skills, including tutorials, websites, and examples of good writing. These sites include information about citing sources, avoiding plagiarism, and how to correctly format your writing in MLA and APA formats.

Remember too that you can get help with your writing in Chancellor's Tutoring Center, both online and on campus.

Intro to APA


The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)
One of the best known online tools for writing instruction is the OWL at Purdue University. Here you will find comprehensive information about every aspect of writing, including grammar, outlining, types of essays, proofreading, formatting guidelines, and many other topics.

There are two quick ways to find what you need here. First, use the search box to type in what you would like to find help with. Second, click on the link to the site map. This will show a listing of all the content on the OWL site.

Scroll down on this site to see the vast array of writing, research, and citation aids provided. This is site is easy to navigate, and provides high-quality information.

State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State College Writing Resource Center
This site includes a nice compilation of resources. It also includes (look on the left-hand side) exercises, and information about specific types of writing. There is information about grammar, spelling and other mechanics of writing.

Rules for Writers, by Diana Hacker
This site includes instructions, exercises, and sample papers in both MLA and APA formats. Reviewing sample papers is a good way to see how a correctly formatted paper should actually look! It also includes specific ESL help.

Big Dog's Grammar
This straight-forward site presents helpful, clear information on some common writing problems - misplaced modifiers, sentence fragments, and consistency.
