Invites All Students to Attend the Following Workshops:
Workshop #1: APA Format/Writing for Research Papers
Purpose: To explain/learn how to use APA format for writing research papers. Stop by on your lunch hour or before your evening class to ask questions and review how to incorporate sources into your college papers. Handouts will be provided for reference. Please bring any papers you may be working on. Workshop focuses on:
- Writing in-text citations
- The reference page
- Evaluating online sources
- Quoting online sources
- Connecting ideas between sources & writing a paper
- Reviewing format—Abstract, References, etc.
Workshop #2: Punctuation & Writing Workshop
Purpose: The basics of writing reviewed. Workshop covers basic sentence structure and common mistakes in grammar/punctuation found in college papers:
- Run-on sentences and fragments reviewed
- Revision writing practice—why draft?
- Fun writing practice exercises!
Workshop #3: Ongoing Evening Workshop in Business Calculus/Review Math
Purpose: To present students with a working understanding of the necessary tools to have upon entering a Business Calculus course. A precursor to Chancellor University’s SC220 and SC120 courses.
