Your adventure begins as you board your flight to Madrid, Spain

Day 2 >> Mon. January 7: (Madrid)

26 nights in twin rooms with private bathrooms incl. breakfast near the International House in Madrid

Morning/
Afternoon:

Arrival at Madrid Barajas Airport. After clearing customs and immigration, meet your CEPA on‐site coordinator who will be available to introduce you to Europe today. A private coach bus will take you from the airport to your accommodation in Madrid. Check into your room and then start off your program with a welcome and orientation walking tour provided by your coordinator.

Evening:

A special welcome dinner awaits your group at a typical Spanish restaurant
in Madrid.

Day 3 >> Tues. January 8: (Madrid)

Morning:

Your day begins with an orientation session at your classroom facilities. Get to know the staff and your teacher for your course and use the remainder of the day to explore Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain.

Afternoon:

Class time in Madrid (e.g. 3 hours)

Day 4 >> Wed. January 9 ‐ Day 6 >> Fri. January 11: (Madrid)

All day:

Class time in Madrid

In addition to regular class, one‐half day, day excursion and guest lectures will be arranged to compliment your course and enrich your cultural experience e.g. visits to banks such as Group Santander or Banco de Espania or visits to museum such as Prado, Museo Reina Sofia or guided walking tours or excursions to Toledo, Segovia or El Escorial.

Day 7 >> Sat. January 12 ‐ Day 8 >> Sun. January 13: (Madrid)

All day:

Free weekend for coursework and to explore Madrid and its surroundings on
your own.

Day 9 >> Mon. January 14 ‐ Day 13 >> Fri. January 18: (Madrid)

Class time in Madrid

In addition to regular class, one‐half day, day excursion and guest lectures will be arranged to compliment your course and enrich your cultural experience.

Free weekend for coursework and to explore Madrid and its surroundings on
your own.

Day 23 >> Mon. January 28 ‐ Day 27 >> Fri. February 1: (Madrid)

Class time in Madrid

Day 28 >> Sat. February 2: (Madrid ‐ Paris)

A private coach bus will be charted exclusively for your group’s transfer to and from the train station Overnight Train from Madrid to Paris will be arranged for your group (4 – 6 sleeper cars)

All day:

Your last day in Madrid is free for you to study and explore the city further on
your own.

Evening:

Your private coach bus will bring you to Madrid Chamartin train station in the evening where you will board your overnight train to your next destination: Paris in France.

Day 29 >> Sun. February 3: (Paris)

4 nights in twin rooms with private bathroom incl. breakfast at a 3‐star hotel in Paris

Morning:

Your overnight train arrives at Paris Austerlitz train station in the late morning. You will be welcomed at the train station by your CEPA on‐site coordinator who will be available to assist you today. Travel together to your hotel by private bus. After your check‐in and a breakfast arranged at your hotel or nearby, join your coordinator for an orientation session.

Afternoon:

Boat tour on the famous Bateaux Parisiens to get a first impression of the capital of France.

Evening:

Group dinner at a restaurant in Paris.

Day 30 >> Mon. February 4: (Paris)

Morning:

Visit and guest lecture at the International Chamber of Commerce or the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

Afternoon:

Visit and guest lecture (focus to be determined by faculty leader) at ExxonMobil or IBM.

Day 31 >> Tues. February 5: (Versailles)

All day:

Audio‐guided tour of the Palace of Versailles and afterwards time to explore the palace and park/gardens further on your own.

Day 32 >> Wed. February 6: (Paris)

Morning:

Guided tour of the Louvre, the most visited and one of the oldest, largest and most famous art galleries and museums in the world.

Afternoon:

Guest lecture on “Cultural Diversity” at your hotel.

Day 33 >> Thurs. February 7: (Paris ‐ Strasbourg)

A private coach bus will be charted exclusively for your group’s transfer to and from the train station Train from Paris to Strasbourg will be arranged for your group.

23 nights in twin rooms with shared bathrooms or triple rooms with private bathrooms incl. breakfast at the CEPA study center, Château de Pourtalès, in Strasbourg

Morning:

Bid farewell to Paris and take the train to Strasbourg where your coach bus and local coordinator will pick you up and bring you to Strasbourg.

Afternoon:

Upon arrival in Strasbourg, you will be welcomed by the team of the Château where you will spend the rest of the month and can enjoy a welcome orientation and tour of the facilities as well as a walk through the Parc de Pourtalès. Afterwards travel by private bus to the city center for a guided boat tour on the Ill river to get a first overview of the “Capital of Europe”.

Evening:

Traditional tarte flambée dinner at a restaurant in Strasbourg.

Day 34 >> Fri. February 8: (Strasbourg)

A private coach bus will be chartered exclusively for your group for today’s excursion.

Morning:

Visit and guest lecture at the European Parliament or Council of Europe

Afternoon:

Visit and guest lecture at a multinational corporation in the Strasbourg region e.g. Steelcase or Dow Chemical

Day 35 >> Sat. February 9: (Alsace)

A private coach bus will be chartered exclusively for your group for today’s excursion.

All Day:

Guide available during the Alsace excursion for a talk during the bus ride on “The Nature of the Alsace – Movement between Germany & France” incl. guided tour of the Haut Königsbourg Castle, brief city tour of Obernai and guided tour of the former concentration camp Struthof.

Evening:

Group dinner at a restaurant in or near Strasbourg.

Day 36 >> Sun. February 10: (Strasbourg)

All day:

Free day for coursework and to explore Strasbourg and
its surroundings on your own.

Day 37 >> Mon. February 11 ‐ Day 41 >> Fri. February 15: (Strasbourg)

All day:

Class time in Strasbourg

In addition to regular class, one‐half day, day excursion and guest lectures will be arranged to compliment your course and enrich your cultural experience e.g. visits to companies such as Mercedes or Pfizer or visits to museum such as the Historical Museum in Strasbourg or guided walking tours or excursions to Stuttgart and Heidelberg in Germany.

Free weekend for coursework and to explore Strasbourg and
its surroundings on your own.
