Chancellor University Students Give School High Ratings for Fall 2012 Session

Seven Hills, Ohio, January 14, 2013 – End of course survey results for the Fall 2012 academic session have been received and compiled into a comprehensive report, and 98 percent of Chancellor University students said they would recommend their program of study at Chancellor to others.

Ninety-four percent of respondents said they would recommend Chancellor University overall to others, 96 percent found the learning experience to be both rigorous and challenging, and 97 percent stated that they were very satisfied or better with their studies at CU. Ninety-six percent of the students said that the online learning environment was an effective technique for course delivery.

“These numbers are really high, and provide us with encouragement to continue to make changes that will help students in the long run,” said Dr. Douglas Clay, Chancellor University Director of Assessment. “The flexibility and nimble atmosphere at Chancellor allows us to change along with the needs and concerns of our students, which will continue to support this positive trend going forward.”

Added CU Provost, Dr. Steve Kerr, “University President Bob Daugherty and I couldn’t be more pleased at the strides we are making to provide a valuable and applicable education to our students.  The staff and faculty make every effort to ensure that the programs we offer are presented with the most viable programs and courses available, with aggressive outcomes to ensure that our students are not only learning, but developing a personal sense of accomplishment.”

The survey, which is completed at the end of every eight-week session, is also a valuable tool to assess instructor effectiveness and permit individualized training to better enhance each teacher’s skills while augmenting their strengths. This initiative is strongly reflected by the fact that 98 percent said that their instructors facilitate meaningful discussions and interaction, with 94 percent stating that the instructor responds to emails and phone calls promptly.

“Employing instructors with extensive real-world experiences that enhance their teaching effectiveness is a crucial part of our mission as educators” said Dr. Kerr. “I know first-hand that our students benefit tremendously from the opportunity to learn from people who have actually done what they are teaching about.”
