Chancellor University Exceeds National Average in Important Department of Education Measurement
SEVEN HILLS, Ohio— Chancellor University's student cohort default rate for Fiscal Year 2009 has improved from 9.8% to 8.5%. According to the Department of Education, the national average for for-profit schools has skyrocketed from 11.6% to 15%. The cohort default rate is the primary metric used by the U.S. Department of Education to measure how well institutions prepare their students for federal loan repayment.

"Our success stems from a concentrated effort to reach out to students before, during, and after they become borrowers," said Christine Tuneberg, Director of Financial Aid. "Through loan entrance and exit counseling, our staff educates students regarding the importance of responsible borrowing from the moment they are accepted until the moment they graduate."
"Chancellor University is committed to a proactive approach to student success," said Provost Dr. Steve Kerr. "Not only by providing them with the financial literacy tools they need, but by working with them in a variety of ways to help them achieve their educational and career objectives."
