Email Policy Change

CLICK HERE TO LOG-IN TO YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT

Please Note: Instructions for different Operating Systems may vary.

Please see below for examples.

Chancellor University has upgraded our email servers in order to provide better service to our students, staff and faculty. As a result, you will have to make a slight modification to your log-in information when you use Outlook Web Access.

If you are using WINDOWS XP or VISTA:

You will see a TWO-LINE dialog box -- USERNAME@chancelloru.edu.

Example: John Doe's username field should read jdoe@chancelloru.edu

If you are using WINDOWS 2000, WINDOWS 98 (any version) or WINDOWS 95:

You will see a THREE-LINE dialog box -- USERNAME, PASSWORD and DOMAIN.
It is NOT necessary to append "@dnmyers.local" to your username, however you will have to specify the DOMAIN as ACADEMIC.

Example: John Doe's username field should read jdoe and his domain is ACADEMIC

Note: Your password has not changed. Your email address has not changed.

If you are experiencing difficulty opening your mailbox using Outlook Web Access (OWA) or if your mailbox "hangs" and never fully loads, please try the following:

1. Hold down the CTRL key as you click the "OK" button to connect to your mailbox. Keep holding it. CTRL almost universally disables (temporarily) popup and script blockers. Since you WANT our OWA script to execute on your system, you are in no danger.

2. In your browser select TOOLS --> INTERNET OPTIONS --> and DELETE your COOKIES and TEMP INTERNET FILES

(Please use the following suggestion at your own risk. Chancellor University is not responsible for any spyware, adware or malware that may make its way on your system as a result of loosening your security settings. This should only be done by experienced system users who are familiar with browser settings and security configuration
. It is always advisable to consult your systems coordinator or your network administator if performing this action at your place of employment.)

3. You also might have a security setting in your browser that is set too restrictive for proper use of OWA. In your web browser (IE), go to TOOLS -> INTERNET OPTIONS --> SECURITY tab
You should use the "Default" level (hit the tab at the bottom right).

NOTE TO AOL USERS: We have unconfirmed reports that some versions of the AOL browser will prevent you from accessing your email account. Please note that this is a system-specific issue, and is not related to Chancellor University Outlook Web Access or our Exchange server farm. We suggest you download a fresh, AOL-free version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. You can find the download at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&displaylang=en

Please follow Microsoft's directions for downloading and installing the browser. NOTE: This install should only be done by experienced system users who are familiar with standard application installation. Chancellor University is in no way responsible for any user action or any resulting issues with a user's home or work system.

Storage Limit Warnings
As a result of the increasing burden that inflated and unattended mailboxes are placing on our mail servers, Chancellor University has imposed new storage limits on all student accounts. If you receive a warning that your mailbox is over the size limit, please begin to perform regular maintenance on your account. This includes deleting all of your unnecessary/unwanted deleted items, sent items and current inbox items. Please pay special attention to emails with attachments. One attachment may contain a great deal of information and might push your account over its set limit. Please save all attachments to external personal storage media and delete the email.

Storage limits are as follows:
40 MB -- You will receive regular warnings from the system administrator.
50 MB -- You will be prohibited from SENDING email from your student account.
60 MB -- You will be prohibited from SENDING and RECEIVING email from/to your student account.

If, after performing a sweeping cleanup on your account, you are still getting messages, please contact Technical Support at
216-361-2726 for further assistance.
