Chancellor University in accordance with its obligations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in admission or access to all available academic programs and services.
The Student Accessibility Services (SAS) ensures that the University is in compliance with the two federal laws, coordinates services, and provides reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities, and prohibits discrimination against students with disabilities in academic programs and activities. SAS is responsible for educating the campus community on policies, laws, and procedures that impact students with disabilities, as well as maintaining an open communication policy with administrators and faculty.

The mission of Student Accessibility Services is based upon Chancellor University’s motto: “Your Opportunity University.” Our main goal is to provide academic opportunities and to promote the academic potential and success of each student, regardless of disability.

Services
To obtain accommodations and support services students with disabilities students:
- Must be accepted and registered for courses at Chancellor University.
- Must initiate contact with Dr.Donna K. Rumenik,the SAS coordinator (through email at drumenik@ChancellorU.edu or phone at 216-432-8975) to set up an appointment.
- Complete an
SAS Registration Form (PDF format) and mail or bring in the form to the SAS coordinator
- Provide current and complete documentation signed by a medical doctor, psychiatrist, or psychologist, verifying the disability. Please provide documentation according to the following guidelines:

- Complete and provide the
Release of Information Form (PDF format).
A student must register and request accommodations as early as possible. Accommodations are not retroactive. Once accommodations have been determined, faculty will be notified. Medical information, and the nature of disability, remain confidential.

Online Learners
Under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (amended in 1996), and the Technology Act of 1998, the Student Accessibility Services at Chancellor University ensures that students with disabilities are provided with equal opportunities to take online courses if they so require. Reasonable accommodations will be determined on an individual basis. Students who require accommodations for their online classes must follow the same procedures and qualify for accommodations as a student with a disability taking traditional ground classes.
