Early Admissions - Post Secondary Education Option Program ( PSEOP )
Pursuant to Ohio Senate Bill 140, the early admission opportunity is available to high school students who meet the eligibility criteria for acceptance. Qualified students who have completed their sophomore year and who have approval of both parent or guardian and the high school guidance counselor are eligible to make application for early admission to Chancellor University to pursue college course work. Acceptance into the PSEOP does not guarantee acceptance into the traditional college program. Contact the Office of Admissions for additional Program information.

The early admission opportunity is intended to:
1) provide high school students with the opportunity to explore various career goals; particularly those oriented toward the field of business, and
2) allow selected high school students to experience collegiate enrollment and academic rigor.
To be eligible, a high school student seeking early admission must
- Complete the admission process which includes
- Submitting an application and an official copy of the high school transcript through their current grade.
- Completing the Chancellor University Placement Test.
- Completing the Post Secondary Education Options Application Form.
- Completing the Post Secondary Options Authorization Form.
- Completing the Chancellor University Medical Release Form.
- Be accepted into the early admission opportunity,
- Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA,
- Have at least an 18 score on the ACT test.
Upon receipt of all official documents, an evaluation will be completed, and an offer of acceptance or a notice of denial of admission will be issued.
Placement Testing
Initial placement in mathematics and/or English courses may be determined by high school grade point average (GPA), as well as by ACT and SAT scores, or by credit transferred from an accredited institution. If one or more of these materials is not available, the student may be given a series of standardized, in-house tests to assist in determining initial placement of the student in classes.
Transfer and returning students may also be required to take a placement test before enrolling in any English or math classes.
Placement test results are valid for one calendar year. Placement Testing and results cannot be waived. A student may only re-take a portion of the placement test one time. International students are required to take all portions of the placement test. Please contact the Office of Academic Advising for additional guidelines and information.
Transfer Credit
Undergraduate Students (insert)
- Students holding an Associate's degree earned at a regionally accredited institution may be granted junior class standing upon admission to Chancellor University, providing the Associate's degree was attained in studies compatible with programs offered by Chancellor University.
- Transfer credit is granted only for courses in which the student received a grade of "C" or above. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Vice President of Academic Affairs or Provost.
- Elective credits earned at another institution may be accepted for transfer, providing they are similar in content to courses offered by Chancellor University. Non-comparable courses may be accepted on a limited basis as electives.
- Additionally, within the 30 semester hours of course work required for the Bachelor's degree (15 hours for the Associate's degree), transfer students must complete a minimum of 9 semester hours of course work for grades in their major or specialization at Chancellor University. Direct Assessment, the Portfolio Review Process, Credit by Examination, CLEP, and Dantes Testing cannot be used to satisfy either the 30-hour (15 for Associate's degree) residency requirement, or 9-hour major or specialization requirement. Residency requirement waived for Military students.
- Transfer or returning students may be required to repeat certain accounting and/or technology (computer) courses taken more than three to five years prior, depending on the program or courses in question.
- Dantes Testing (DSST) - The University accepts Dantes Testing (DSST) credits. DSST provides students an opportunity to obtain college credit for what they have learned in non-traditional ways. For more information, test sites, and minimum scores required for credit, visit the DSST website at www.getcollegecredit.com. DSST credit may not be used toward the University's residency requirements. Residency requirement waived for Military students.
- CLEP Tests - The University accepts College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) test credits. CLEP provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement by taking exams in various subject areas. For more information, test sites, and minimum scores required for credit, visit the CLEP website at www.collegeboard.com. CLEP credit may not be used toward the University's residency requirements. Residency requirement waived for Military students.
Graduate Students
- Graduate Students are permitted to transfer a maximum of six (6) hours of graduate credit from another accredited institution. Classes with a grade of less than B- will not be eligible for transfer credit. Once a student begins the graduate program at Chancellor University, he/she may not take classes at another institution for transfer credit or request transfer credit for any classes not identified before beginning the program.
- Transfer or returning students may be required to repeat certain accounting and/or technology (computer) courses taken more than three to five years prior, depending on the program or courses in question.
Returning (Former) Students
Returning (formerly enrolled) students who have not attended Chancellor University for two or more years must contact the Office of Admissions to apply for re-admission to the University. Returning students who are not Chancellor University Alumni are required to pay an additional application fee.

If the student has attended another institution during the period of absence, official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions as a condition of re-admission. Returning students may also be required to take a placement test before enrolling in English and/or math classes.
Students who return to the University after an absence of two or more years, during which time they did not earn any credits at Chancellor University, must satisfy program requirements in the catalog in force at the time of their return. This policy applies regardless of the number of credits earned under a previous catalog.
Non-Matriculating Students
A non-matriculating student is a student who is not pursuing a degree program at Chancellor University. Enrolling in courses under either of the options listed below may limit or eliminate the opportunity to use any form of financial aid. All students enrolled at Chancellor are required to meet all prerequisites. Please speak with your Admission Advisor for more information.
Provisional Students
Provisional students are not enrolled in a degree or certificate program. They are required to submit an application and pay the application fee, but are not required to submit official high school or college transcripts or college test scores.
Provisional students may take up to nine credit hours. Students who wish to complete more than nine credit hours or choose to enroll in a degree or certificate program must complete the admission application procedure, including submission of all credentials required in the admissions process. Provisional students are not eligible for financial assistance.
Transient Students
A student enrolled at another college or University who wishes to take course work at Chancellor University and intends to return to his/her home institution for continued study, may attend Chancellor University as a transient student. The student must submit an approved transient form from his/her home institution, complete a Chancellor University application form, and pay the application fee, prior to enrolling.
There is no limit to the number of classes a student may take on a transient basis, and the transient registration can be processed any time during the University's registration periods.
Admissions Denial or Revocation
Admission to Chancellor University may be denied or revoked if the University learns that an individual has engaged in conduct that indicates to the University that he/she is not ready to be a responsible member of the University community. The University will examine, on an individual basis, cases where the health, safety, and welfare of members of the University community, in its judgment, may be an issue. Document falsification or failure to disclose information may also result in denial or revocation of admission to Chancellor University.
